The Circus Hostel, situated in the center of Berlin, is a great budget-friendly option for the young at heart; it offers dormitory rooms and single rooms, but the best deal here are the two quiet and airy rooftop apartments that offer wonderful panoramic views of Berlin's skyline.
When my inlaws visited Berlin, they stayed in one of the rooftop apartments of the Circus Hostel; they had a wonderful time and were happy to learn that hostels were not only for backpackers...

Location
The Circus Hostel in the heart Berlin offers very good value in a great location. Explore the central district of Mitte from here by foot: Great Berlin attractions are nearby, and the hostel is surrounded by many international restaurants, bars, and cafes. A subway station is located just across the street.
Rooms
The dorm rooms are fine, if you don't mind sharing your bathroom with other guests. But the best deal here are the two rooftop apartments - fully furnished, with a kitchenette, bathroom, and balcony.
The windows offer breathtaking views of Berlin, and you can see some of the major landmarks of the city (TV Tower, Berlin Cathedral, Victory Column, Tiergarten) from up here.
The two apartments are also quieter than the rest of the hostel it feels like you live in your own little Berlin penthouse.
Extras
The Circus Hostel offers a lot of extras that add to your vacation: You can take organized walking tours, rent bikes and even a Smart car. The staff is extremely friendly and assists you in reserving tickets for local soccer matches or cultural events.
Café
The Circus Café, housed on the ground floor of the hostel, is small, but has good deals on snacks, pastry, and coffee. Breakfast is served from 8.30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
In summer, you can sit outside on a little street terrace - a great place to watch the Berliners walk by.
The Circus Hostel is part of the list The Best Hostels in Berlin.
