The Hippodrom
The Hippodrom is a favorite for Munich residents. Somewhat smaller than the other tents, and very popular, you need to arrive early if you want to get a seat. This is a "beautiful people" tent, a younger crowd with a significant celebrity and flirt factor. The Sekt bar makes a great break from the gallons of beer you may be consuming. The Hippo serves up a wide array of traditional Bavarian foods.

Armbrustschützen - Bull's Eye
Named after the Oktoberfest Crossbow Competition, this tent offers up music from its brass band and great traditional Bavarian foods. The service is friendly and comfortable and the atmosphere congenial.

Hofbräu Festhalle - The Munich Hofbrauhaus
The Hofbrau Festhalle is the one of the largest tents at Oktoberfest and a favorite of Americans and Brits. The music adds a festive atmosphere and the guests get very happy as the day progresses. The Hofbrau serves up a wide array of dishes at fairly economical prices so you can sample Bavarian fare to your hearts content.

Hacker - "Heaven to Bavarians"
This tent is popular because of its fantastic art. The inside of the tent has scenes from around Munich painted on over 13,000 square feet. Clouds and stars grace the tent top and the revolving stage adds to the atmosphere. While traditional music is offered up most of the day, this year, between 5:30 and 7:30 you can enjoy a little rock and roll. The tent serves up tradional Bavarian fare with some great Bavarian appetizer offerings.

Schottenhamel - Bavarian Tradition
Everything starts in the Schottenhamel. On the opening day of Oktoberfest, at 12 pm exactly, the mayor of Munich taps the first keg of beer and calls out "O'zapft is!" , literally meaning the beer is tapped, but in actuality, it means "Let the party begin!". The oldest tent at Oktoberfest, the Schotenhammel is a favorite meeting place for young and old alike and serves up traditional Bavarian fare.
