Walk over the bridge from the Rathaus to Hamburg's luxury shopping district.

Make sure you check out the Alster-Arkaden directly across from the Rathaus, there are excellent restaurants, boutiques and small shops. This area is home to designer boutiques, art galleries, and hundreds of stores in the various arcades. If you are hungry, grab a wurst in the square or eat in one of the small restaurants that line the Alster-Arkaden.
If you like, wander through some of the other shopping arcades and shops along Neuer Wall but, fair warning, you may not make it through the rest of the tour if you are an avid shopper.
