The Porcelain Collection at the Zwinger is one of the largest in the world, with 20,000 pieces of Chinese, Japanese and Meissen Porcelain.

- The First Porcelain in Europe was developed in Dresden in 1709.
- August the Strong brought Porcelain to Germany and declared his love for porcelain "maladie des porcellaines" Porcelain Disorder.
- Chinese vessels and figures of the Song, Ming and Kangxi periods as well as Japanese Imari and Kakiemon porcelain from Arita predominate.
- The Saxon Porcelain Manufactory of Dresden owns moulds of more than 12,500 different models and shapes.
