The Elbe between Seusslitz near Meissen and Decin in the Czech Republic is an absolutely beautiful stretch of river and the steamboats take you through Dresden, and through lovely stretches of Saxony (the Bohemian Switzerland) and the Saxon Wine country, cliffs rise up above the river and vineyards dot the landscape. Cruises go daily to Pillnitz Palace and offer a great way to see Dresden and the surrounding areas.
You can take an evening cruise to enjoy the full effect of Dresden at night or take one of the many special events cruises, including jazz and Dixieland cruises on weekends.
