Rottweilers go as far back as Roman times and were herding dogs and war dogs in Roman times, Rottweilers, originally bred in Rottweil, Germany (at least as far as we can figure) are one of the oldest German dog breeds and are wholly dependent on their training to be either great family dogs or guard dogs. Rottweilers are alert, loving and can be dangerous in the hands of a wrong owner or trainer. Strong dogs, they are fond of children unless not socialized correctly. A bad master will result in an aggressive angry Rottweiler, while if you train one well, he will be a great family pet as well as a protector of your family.
