Fun at Amusement Parks in Germany

OK, the kids are fed up with castles, palaces and museums, take a day out to visit one of Germany's theme parks or amusement parks. Your tiny ones will love a day at Playmobil Land, a giant indoor park full of larger than life Playmobil toys and playgrounds. For roller coaster fans, Europa Park offers the largest roller coaster in Europe and over 100 rides.

Europa Park

Overview: Germany's biggest amusement park, Europa Park is Germany's answer to Disneyland. You can stay in one of many hotels there and explore different European countries (albiet amusement park style) in their different themed areas. Plenty of great roller coasters and fun rides for the kids

Movie Park

Overview: See Hollywood up close in Germany at this movie theme park - rides, shows, roller coasters and special events - very much like a smaller version of Universal Studios.

Phantasialand

Overview : Phantasialand Amusement Park boasts the largest indoor roller coaster in the world and several other spectacular rides. From fantasy worlds, to the Colorado Rockies and Africa - I have yet to visit, but it looks like a lot of fun - water parks, playgrounds for the kids, lots of rides and plenty of shows. If you are an amusement park fan you might want to put this on your top ten list.

Heide Park

Overview : A fun amusement park with plenty of roller coasters and water rides, this is a favorite destination for people in northern Germany.

Holiday Park

Overview: One of the largest theme parks in Germany, this is a popular destination for families and in addition to plenty of roller coasters and great rides, offers some spectacular laser shows and fireworks displays.

Legoland Germany

Playmobil Land

Overview: The Playmobil theme park is great for the little ones - lots of themed play areas and things to do for children under 10 or so. This is an excellent place to spend a day or a few hours so the kids can run off some steam.
