Rive - Restaurant Review
Two things make the Rive an outstanding place for dining out in Hamburg: The restaurant offers the best view of the Hamburg harbor and serves up the freshest seafood.
Location
You find the restaurant Rive in a light glass-and-steel building near the ferry terminal on the River Elbe.
Through its panoramic windows, you have commanding views of one of the world's largest working harbors. Pick a table at the window and watch the huge container ships and tankers go by. The view is especially impressive at sunset and in the early evening.
The Rive also has a heated patio right at the waterfront, keeping you warm through spring and fall (closed in winter).
Cuisine of the Rive
Rive serves up incredibly fresh catches that arrive at the harbor daily.
Start with fresh oysters at the bar, then try a local speciality, such as herring or pan-fried fish with mustard sauce. For a more international twist, choose sushi or wok fried seafood with exotic spices.
Needless to say, the Rive is one of Hamburg’s most popular dining spots. The atmosphere in the evening is lively, and it can get crowded. Make sure to reserve a table (at the window!).
