Attention ladies, Germany's carnival celebrations are kicking off with tomorrow's "Women's Carnival" (Altweiberfastnacht), so get ready to dress up and go out: You may kiss any man you want, and you can even cut off his tie!
This weekend and following Rose Monday, February 11th, are the highlights of the carnival season in Germany, and there will be costume balls and street parades all over the country. Almost every German city celebrates carnival and organizes a street parade in its city center, but the best and most traditional carnival festivities take place in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Münster, Aachen, and Mainz.
