Munich's Christkindl Market is famous all over the country, and yes, it is worth a visit, but once you have seen it, stray away and take a look at this small but very unique Christmas fair, which is just a short walk away: Munich's atmospheric manger market (Kripperlmarket), which dates back to 1757, is devoted to mangers and nativity figures made in Germany. From baby Jesus, and the Christmas angel, to animals, lanterns for the barn, and the gifts of the three Magi, the manger market offers wonderful souvenirs and everything you'll need to create your own nativity scene.
