Leipzig is filled with music - the city's musical history comes to life every day, after all, the likes of Mendelssohn, and Schumann have left their musical imprints on Leipzig. These weeks, the city celebrates the life and work of one of its most famous residents, Johann Sebastian Bach, with its annual Bach Festival. From June 7 to June 17, 2012, renowned artists from all over the world perform Bach's classical masterpieces in historical venues like the Thomaskirche (Thomas Church), where the German composer worked as a cantor for over 27 years.
