The German capital kicks off its holiday season today, on Monday, November 21, 2011 - that's when most of Berlin Christmas markets open their gates. Berlin celebrates the holidays with no less than 60 Christmas markets; from romantic, and historic, to organic, and fun, there is a Christmas market for everyone in Berlin
I recommend taking a walk along the boulevard "Unter den Linden" in historic Berlin-Mitte; if you start at Alexanderplatz and walk all the way to the Brandenburg Gate, you will pass four of some of the most popular Christmas markets in Berlin: a fun Christmas market for the whole family on Alexanderplatz, a historic Christmas fair in front of Berlin's City Hall, and a "Nostalgic Christmas Market" at the Opera House.
