I am not a fan of statistics, but the annual post-Oktoberfest statistics, traditionally released on the last day of the festival, are always entertaining.

More than 6.4 million visitors descended on Munich to visit Oktoberfest; they drank 7 million liters of beer, ate 30.000 chicken, and stole 130,000 beer steins. The Oktoberfest statistics are especially famous for their numbers on intriguing items that were lost during the 2-week festival:

  • 1,450 items of clothing
  • 770 passports
  • 420 wallets
  • 420 mobile phones
  • 1 rabbit
  • 1 pug
  • 1 leather whip
  • and, as every year, 1 set of dentures
