Traveling just became a little bit easier last week: Right in time for the Christmas holidays, the European Union increased its duty-free allowances for travelers arriving in the EU.
You are now allowed to bring the following goods, without paying value added tax or custom duties:

  • 1 litre of spirits
  • 4 litres of wine
  • 16 litres of beer
  • 200 cigarettes
  • 430 Euro worth of other goods, such as toys, electronic devices, and gifts.
