Celebrating Hanukkah in Berlin

Sunday December 7, 2008

The Jewish Museum of Berlin is celebrating Hanukkah with a monthlong Hanukkah Market in the museum's glass courtyard.

The Berlin Hanukkah market offers Jewish specialties and Hanukkah wares from all over the world; you can sample Israelian delights, such as date paste and candied fruit, buy Judaica, such as Hanukkah lamps, mezuzots, and dreidel, or find some great gifts, like cosmetics with minerals from the Dead Sea.

The museum also organized a special Hanukkah exhibtion, which is dedicated to the rituals and historical background of the festival. On Sunday afternoons, you can treat your ears to Klezmer music and Yiddish songs.

When: until December 31st, daily from midday to 6 p.m.
Where: Jewish Museum of Berlin; Lindenstraße 9-14, 10969 Berlin
Admission to the Hanukkah Market: free
